This extension only works for Scopus authenticated users. The Scopus download manager will not do anything for unauthenticated users.

Scopus Document Download Manager is a free browser extension enabling download functionality in Scopus, as well as a Quick Document Search function for Scopus authenticated users. To search, authenticated users can simply click on the browser extension icon to display the search form.

This extension saves authenticated users the hassle of visiting individual publisher web sites to download documents one by one. Instead, it seamlessly connects to publisher websites to download full text PDFs directly from your browser without needing to configure and maintain a list of entitlements.

How do you use this extension in Scopus?

1) From the document search results or document list pages, select one or several documents and click on Download button

Extremely disappointed that I have to allow Elsevier to read and change all my data in order to download PDFs from SCOPUS. This is not a requirement to download PDFs from competitors, completely ridiculous that SCOPUS requires it and certainly leaves the impression that Elsevier doesn't take data privacy seriously.

1) User is authenticated on Scopus website via institutional or personal account. 2) User performs document search on Scopus and selects documents. 3) User clicks Download button on Scopus page. 4) Content script (contentScript.js) receives the download request event and uses pdf-locator library to resolve PDF URLs from publisher sites. 5) Background script (backgroundScript.js) fetches PDF data or triggers direct downloads via chrome.downloads API. 6) PDFs are saved to browser Downloads folder.

The extension has no login UI of its own—it relies entirely on Scopus website authentication. The exact mechanism of how it detects the authenticated Scopus session is embedded in the minified pdf-locator library and Scopus page JavaScript.
