Read Out is a free browser extension that provides multilingual, AI-powered text-to-speech (TTS) functionality. To use it, simply select the text you want to hear, right-click, and choose "Read Out." The extension will then convert the text into natural, human-like speech. Additionally, you can play any copied text out loud on any webpage using the extension's popup, which is accessible from the icon pinned to your browser's navigation bar.
Read Out offers six distinct voice models and adjustable AI voice quality, all at no cost. While the extension is compatible with the vast majority of websites, please be aware that some content restrictions may prevent its functions on certain pages.

There aren't really any options if you want to change anything/modify and I'm uncertain why, but for me, it never seems to work. It does require an API key (which is a mark against it already) and I have NOT done the drama of troubleshooting. I have enough issues to deal with, I'm using TTS extensions because Windows Narrator is trash and I don't have/haven't found/can't afford alternatives and I need it. That said, I have many disabilities and no time for extra BS like troubleshooting an extension that should just be simple to install, use, and operate. This is none of those things. No thank you from me.

You should definitely explain the API stuff a lot more, I was not aware that the extension is free, but the API access needed is not.

Read Out: AI voices, can make reading large amounts of text more enjoyable, especially when dealing with a lot of tedious data. This app has unique, human-sounding voices you would definitely want to have. It proves to be useful for translations and learning purposes. It offers a choice of both male and female voices, making it an app that will capture your interest. Although not free, is still a great option due to its affordable price. Bare in mind that, you get what you pay for, and quality usually comes at a price. Fabulous support and friendly and approachable. Keep up the good work guys!
I added the api key, and topped up my openai account credits. but it still is not working for me.
