enhanced-h264ify is a fork of well-known h264ify extension for Firefox/Chrome which blocks VP8/VP9 codecs on YouTube, so that you can use H264 only. This may be useful because there are lots of devices on the market which support H264 hardware decoding and do not support VP8/VP9.
This extension has new features such as manual blocking of H264, VP8, VP9, AV1, Opus, AAC codecs and 60fps video. By default it blocks everything but H264 and 60fps video.
It works only on YouTube.

Helped me block AV1. Fixed the problem with youtube stuttering.
installed it on the brave, instantly fixed the problem with youtube stuttering and buffering . tick block vp8 and av1. got the idea from chatgpt to install this.
Seems to have fixed my YouTube random crackling audio issues on my older audio card (Xonar) thanks to a recommendation to use this extension and disable only AV1 codec.
То что надо....работает отлично!!!!
works when you set it up, but after reopening chrome it doesn't make a difference
My M1 MacBook Pro can't decode AV1 video, so I use this to force youtube to stream VP9 instead.
for those who can't get it to work. just restart chrome.
Just block Opus. He is GOD.
After seeing a suggestion on Reddit to use this extension to fix Youtube issues, I found that after disabling Opus in the audio section, the weird crackling and crunchiness I was getting disappeared. Very helpful!
I was having issues playing YouTube videos. The video and audio would stutter and it would be difficult to understand and watch. I right-clicked the video and selected "Stats for nerds" and saw it was using VP9 encoding. With this extension, I blocked VP8 and VP9 encoding. Now, YouTube videos are using AV1 encoding and play without issues. Definitely recommend.
