enhanced-h264ify is a fork of well-known h264ify extension for Firefox/Chrome which blocks VP8/VP9 codecs on YouTube, so that you can use H264 only. This may be useful because there are lots of devices on the market which support H264 hardware decoding and do not support VP8/VP9.
This extension has new features such as manual blocking of H264, VP8, VP9, AV1, Opus, AAC codecs and 60fps video. By default it blocks everything but H264 and 60fps video.
It works only on YouTube.

after install this extension, my cpu usage low.....thx you so much!!!
Great plugin, no issues. It would be nice though if we could choose to only enable VP9 and AV1 for videos that are 1440p or higher but block those codecs for 1080p and below.
all working flawlessly chrome 110 h264 only, a lot more smooth playback gigabyte rtx 3090ti when normalization turned off music is a lot louder thank you

На любом кодеке грузит процессор на 100%. Это обычные видео на ютуб с разрешением 720р. При переключении на 264 процессор грузит до 70-80%, но видео начинает отставать от звука и перескакивает каждые 2-3 секунды, а то и 10 секунд. В общем звук есть, а видео за ним не успевает и прыгает. Не помогло это расширение.

my pentium e5700 trash can finally play 60 frame video
This broke. Until a few days ago it was working fine, but now it is causing lag and freezing in the videos on Opera browser.
По сути оно должно форсировать кодек, который менее затратный для компьютера. Но при включении нагрузка на CPU достигает 100%, а нагрузка на CPU не меняется. Ощущение, будто засунули майнер. Если нужна будет какая-то дополнительная информация, то напишу. P.S Использовал на Edge
