"Audio only youtube" chrome extension enables you to disable only video on youtube which saves internet usage more than 50% when you want to listen songs on youtube.
**Note: It doesn't support Youtube Live Videos.**
You can enable/disable it by just clicking on the icon shown in the extension bar.

Pretty good but the unfortunate aspect of it is that sometimes (if not regularly) if an advert plays it sends the video back to the start :/ Is there a chance you could look into this please?
Really enjoyed it but looks like youtube music now makes you upgrade to watch audio only and ever since this option has appeared the extension no longer works. Videos play regardless of whether this is toggled on or off :(
Love the extension, works perfectly for me.
It works as intended. However, it seems to have incompatibilities with YouTube's playback speed feature. Without the extension, whatever playback speed I have for the current video in a playlist carries over to the next video that plays. Eg. If I'm listening to a podcast episode at 1.5x, the next podcast episode still plays at 1.5x. With the extension, though it displays the supposed playback speed from the current video, it reverts into normal speed when the next video plays. This issue aside, it does the job.

Works on regular YT, although it does not on YT music. The icon is displayed, but video still plays. And it sometimes messes up the playlist, causing them to be stuck on one song while displaying something else. Great idea, because CPU and GPU load is in fact lowered when it works, but still needs some improvement.

I'm still not sure how it works, I think the video loads but just don't show up => makes the extension worthless
Overall woks as intended, but breaky my YTMusic Supermix. Every time you skip a song it plays the same one again but shows as it was playing the next.
