This extension prevents web pages from opening pop-up windows of any kind. When the extension is enabled, all newly opened windows will get directed to the active window (in the currently active window before this window gets opened). You can toggle the extension on and off from the toolbar button to enable the single-window mode or disable it. When the extension is enabled, all windows are forced to stay in the same active window. So if a website issues a popup window, instead the extension moves the newly created popup window into the active window and then focuses on this newly created window (same as dragging a tab from one window to another window). When the extension is disabled, popup opening is permitted.

Notes:
Even if the extension is enabled, the user can still open new windows using Ctrl + N or Command + N shortcuts. Also from the 3-dot -> New Window menu.
This extension does not intercept incognito (private) windows.

Modern Web Extension to Open Links in New Tabs for Specified Domains or Temporarily on Any Tab.
It was great, but somehow since the last update of Chrome it does not work anymore. While the pop-up tries to open in a new tab, Chrome is crashing (closing) completely without any error message.
Has worked great and I've relied on this for several months, but it stopped working around 11/10/25; I get an error message "File not found It may have been moved, edited, or deleted. ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND" and the url is extension://pnbbookneacpggbngfmhfggennhigonh/
It was perfect but the last update of Chrome broke it, now when it trigger chrome crash, is possible to have and update?
It worked for a long time and it was great. But no longer works for me. I'm using Windows 10, latest update on Chrome and I do work at a school behind a firewall.
only works when chrome doesn't update. I need my stuff to open in one tab at work and every time there is a update it does not work.
An extension that does what it claims to do. Excellent!
Recently, more and more popups have been infiltrating. Might have something to do with manifest v3. What a shame.
Finally, one that works well! +1 :)
