Have used this before, and anyone having difficulty using, steps are: 1. Install Chrome extension. 2. Click on Icon for extension, it will show a box to say you need an 8GB USB or SD card (it will be formatted). 3. Click Get Started, and select machine, do Chrome Flex OS if not a real Chromebook (i.e. old laptop). 4. Click Continue with USB and select USB. 5. Drive is created. Insert into spare machine and boot from USB to continue installing.. https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/1080595

Don't be a Mr Bungles. Add the extention to your Chrome Browser and it will work. If your wanting Google Chrome Flex scroll to it and select to both and it should select your USB automatically if its inserted otherwise select it.
Goes through the whole process except does not 'Write' It's still at 0% over 2 hours after getting to that step.
The Recovery Utility is not working. When the Chromebook Recovery Utility pops up, it freezes. The Get Started button appears to be not functioning? Anyone else having this problem? Is there another way to download it?
This extension is not supported for Ubuntu OS. For people who are using Ubuntu or any other linux distribution, refer the section 'Download from Google' in the following link below: https://support.google.com/chromeosflex/answer/11541904?hl=en
