Product summary

Review the store description, core capabilities, and common use cases.

Use this extension to sign in to supported websites with Microsoft work or school accounts on Windows (10 and later versions) or macOS (11 and later versions). If you have a Microsoft Entra ID on your Windows or macOS computer, this extension enables improved Single Sign On for supported websites. You may still see additional authentication prompts like multi-factor verification depending on the access requirements for various applications, resources, and organizations.

This extension is required for certain device-based conditional access policies for Microsoft Entra ID. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/conditional-access/concept-conditional-access-conditions#supported-browsers

For macOS, this extension requires the device to be managed and requires the additional installation of Company Portal: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/user-help/enroll-your-device-in-intune-macos-cp

Note: If you are experiencing difficulties with signing in or accessing resources, it could be related to your organization’s device policies. Please submit a support ticket directly to Microsoft through your tenant’s subscription. The developer email address for the extension is not an avenue for customer support.

Absolutely love this extension. Normally I'd use edge in order to access my account with out having to retype my password in, now I can do that in chrome with zero hassle.

It is an interesting function, but the organization of the provider is unclear. Is this provided by Microsoft or trusted authorities?

the use case is interesting, but doesn't help and annoy users who need to use multiple Chrome profiles. The extension is installed in all of them, and I need to disable by hand... breaking some automated tasks. Most people use only one Windows and AAD account, but some people use Chrome exactly because it allows you to run more than one profile without mixing cookies, open sessions and so on. Forcibly installing the extension will make them immediately login as the same windows user, which is not always a good idea. With that, the extension will help most if not all basic users, but break some professionals who use Chrome in a (supported) different way. UX could be better to handle these corner cases.

Can we please have this extension for Firefox too? There are many scenarios where I switch between Firefox and Chrome. Having this addon for Firefox makes my life much simpler and porting the extension to Firefox shouldn't be big investment

Here's how to remove this extension if it was forcefully installed and there is no obvious way to remove it(Windows Only): - Using RegEdit, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome\ExtensionInstallForcelist -From that path, remove the entry that has ppnbnpeolgkicgegkbkbjmhlideopiji in the Value, or remove the entire ExtensionInstallForcelist folder if you don't want any force-installed extensions -In Explorer, navigate to "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions" (c:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\) -Delete the ppnbnpeolgkicgegkbkbjmhlideopiji directory -Now, to prevent local policy / updates from ever installing this extension again, in the above specified directory, create a new text file and rename it to "ppnbnpeolgkicgegkbkbjmhlideopiji" (Note, it must not have anything else in the name, remove the .txt extension, so the full name will be exactly ppnbnpeolgkicgegkbkbjmhlideopiji). -Restart Chrome Done, the extension will be gone and it won't be able to auto-install.
