Custom New Tab

Custom New Tab control for Chrome. Set custom new tab of your Chrome browser. It is minimalistic page without news feeds, recommendations, advertising, complex images.

By clicking "Add to chrome" you accept and agree to installing "High-Custom New Tab" extension and setting Chrome default search to that provided by the service and the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. The extension will update your search settings and will change your search engine to be powered by Bing.

Go to extensions tab Load as unpacked by choosing the extension directory in appdata. Delete js, css, and font folder. Delete newtab file. Edit manifest file in wordpad and remove the three consecutive lines for the newtab segment. Without opening newtab, go back to extensions tab and hit the reload extension button for it. Done... You might be able to remove analytics and get pro too with some changes, but I wouldn't recommend it cause that's illegal and is just a fyi to the developer.

I use this extension exclusively to lower my volume, never raise it. It's excellent for that and it should be advertised as its main feature since every volume manager including this one advertises that it raises volume, which is not helpful at all. But this most recent update asserted that this app must now be my default whenever I open a new tab. I was already using another extension as my default tab, and when I tried changing back to it, it disabled this app entirely. The only way I could fix this was by uninstalling my search engine/default tab extension and reinstalling it. What's strange is that this app has an options button that's greyed out and doesn't do anything for some reason. This extension acting as a default tab should've been an optional feature that was disabled by default. Hopefully this is quickly fixed in an update.

If there's something I can't stand is changes I don't ask for nor I can opt out from, just a checkbox would fix it, until then removing the extension is the only option.

Great functionality, but a new update makes it change the new tab appearance with no way to opt out. Super shady stuff.

Used to be amazing, perfect for the job. Now it changes the new tab page without an option to disable. Uninstalling. Lemme know if you remove this feature and I'll come back.

A recent update, without announcement or permission, changed my new tab page to some random page. This should be announced in the description of the extension. More so, this extension should at least give an option to disable this functionality, if not have it disabled by default, since it is not a large part of the extension's functionality.
