LOOVE this extension! As a slow reader and a full-time undergrad, this extension has made my studying and homework so much easier! I will continue to use it throughout my schooling and beyond.
It's exactly what you are looking for.
It's great, I use it DAILY, or at least I DID use it daily, now it's got a limit on how many prompts I am allowed in the free version before I am locked out for a specified time!?!? WHY? You changed the terms of service essentially and that's not very fair, considering when I downloaded it and have since gotten used to it and have come to love this little companion, I am suddenly given limits on how much use I can get from it in a day unless I pay for it. Reminds me of the other subscription economy BS that Ford and Tesla suddenly perpetuated upon their customers, they disabled the heated seats and for owners to get this feature back they must pay a monthly subscription fee which is happening with a lot of brands. Disappointed. I understand we can't expect you to provide such an amazing tool for free, but when you take away features (Ford, Tesla) or limit a previously unlimited per day usage of the basic functionality of the tool (you) it comes across as somewhat shady! Either set the limits and inform the user that there is a cap on per day prompts from the outset, or don't set limits at all...
Good job
It's so great!! If I was in the position to pay for the additional features out of support, I would <3
Brilliant extension. I'm currently creating an audiobook from a pdf version of a book that is not available as an audiobook. This extension allows me to do that. Thank you1
I haven't even used the Extension. And yet I feel compelled to rate it one star Based purely on the way you're responding to your users. Now keep in mind I will use the extension and based on the functionality it provides and how well it works for me, I will change my rating accordingly (And since I'll be using the free version of the extension, I'll be rating the free version of the extension). So if it's a good extension, regardless if some surrounding features (as you called them) are paywalled, if it's good enough to deserve four stars then it should be rated four stars. After all, it's your hard work, and I respect that. However, I don't see myself ever rating it five stars simply due to your lack of bedside manners. I just can't give a dev five stars after witnessing them talk to their users like that, It's just incomprehensible. More importantly, I think you're failing to accept that, unfortunate as it may be, the undeniable truth is you need your users far more than they need you. Especially now with vibe coding. And I don't see any honorable scenario where a dev would need a subscription based "support" from each of their users. I think it's greedy. It's a terrible fad that has already infected the software market like an epidemic and it's sad to see individual devs, especially amateur devs (meaning virtually no history of commercial development behind them) immediately jumping on that bandwagon. If your app or extension Is properly developed, you'll have no problem getting far more than a 1000 users. You'll probably get in the 10s of thousands, and if you're lucky/really good, hundreds of thousands. If you charge each of those users $5, that's a mighty pretty penny. You do not need $5 a month from Tens of thousands of people, it's deplorable. Just code another good app and charge another $5 for that. Subscription-based pricing is akin to milking your customers until they can no longer produce milk and when that happens you discard them, which I find to be far more "ungrateful". Don't follow the example of the insanely rich. Set a new standard and be a part of the community who changes the way this system currently works. If you are in a dire situation that needs extreme financial help and time is of the essence, start a go fund me or some type of campaign and explain what it is and why you need it and if it's a just and honest cause I am confident you will receive the support you need. Remember, these are just my opinions and advice, and in no way am I claiming to be an authority on any of these domains. This is just a courtesy nudge in case there's a humble guy in there who's hit hard enough times that it resulted in him being a dick to the people supporting his hard work.
