This extension makes it easy to temporarily disable power management on Chrome OS.
It adds an icon in the upper-right corner of the browser that can be clicked to switch between modes where the screen is kept on (sun icon), the system is prevented from sleeping (sunset), or power-saving settings are left unchanged (moon).

* Will this extension prevent a Chromebook from suspending when its lid is closed?
No, but if an external display is connected, recent versions of Chrome OS will remain awake when the lid is closed.

Great extension. I use Chrome OS and Google tools for every day use. I also use a crouton (chroot'ed) Ubuntu when I want to program or keep stuff private. This extension makes it so I can ssh into the Ubuntu without the Chromebook nodding off. Please add an ignore closed lid feature, app, hack so I can just close the lid and everything just keeps running. Please add more verbose hover tooltips to your icons, like the name of your extension and a link to extension page. Please also add details about lid closure and time until the screen will go to sleep and how to change them. I am new to Chrome OS and noob information would be useful. Let's help as many people possible to have an easy to use alternative to Windows' 10 huge spyware at the os level project and Apple hugely over priced *nix laptops and tablets with completely different (osx/ios) CLOSED platforms.
NOOO what the heck! I have it installed on my chromebook and set it to "sunset". I waited for the screen to dim then made it come back on.The downloaded stopped and failed when it was half way done!!2 hours of downloading time LOST !!!!

works very well on hp CHROMEBOX!
Sunset mode does not work on Asus Chromebook Flip C100PA-DB02. I can keep the system on and not burn battery by selecting Sun mode and using the keyboard to turn brightness all the way down. But system still sleeps if you close the lid. App doesn't claim to prevent that, but it sure would be nice if that was a feature. A more accurate name for the app would be Keep Awake If Open.

Perfect for me I have wi-fi problems whenever i close my lid but with this extention (sunset mode) my life will be easier (unless it runs out off battery)
Just installed and it doesn't work.
It works just like it says. It keeps my Chromebook from sleeping when I step away from my desk for a few minutes.
