Recently took up DDG upon a suggestion from a friend of mine. After some disappointing search results from Google Search, I realized I need to find something more neutral. I could not believe that was actually Google Search coming up with all that stuff! WTH! Those results from Google Search seriously make me think Baidu search from China was actually behind the search. And it was that crazy! After nearly a month, I have been happier with more balanced search results from DDG. Still not 100% off from Google Search but it looks like I am going to use DDG more in the future.
Liked the app but had to remove it after my first search because I got a notification telling me the app charged me for the search despite the website claiming it's free to use??
Liked it but had to remove the extension from Chrome. Was blocking my ability to log in to my Barnes and Noble account and my New Yorker subscription. Maybe other issues, too. Still my default search engine but had to take it off Chrome. Only re-installed it so I could write this review. Part 2: had to remove it again to ask a question about a new refrigerator on the General Electric website. Need to fix this extension so it doesn't block pop-ups, only ads.
Does not let user control the settings. It takes over the new tab and sets DDG as the only search engine in the URL field. The only way to choose another search engine is by disabling the extension completely.
WARNING. This is MALWARE. If you install it, you will not be able to use the "pick up where I left off" feature. You will always open up at duckduckgo. Also, your new tab is set to duckduckgo without your permission. But here's the worst: You're stuck with these problems even if you uninstall it.

Love this app. Only used it for a week or so but it has been a smooth transition. Between DDG and AdBlocker+, I am a much happier web surfer.
