This extension tries to mimic the ALT+TAB behavior from Windows(or Command+TAB in Mac) to allow to switch between open tabs in a Most Recently Used fashion.
It remembers the order in which you switched tabs (made a tab active) and it updates its records so that you can switch to the recently used ones quickly.
Note: Sometimes after updating the extension the keyboard shortcut settings get reset. Hence you might want to set the desired keyboard shortcuts again in the keyboard shortcut settings in the Chrome Extensions page.
Alternatively, navigate to chrome://extensions/shortcuts from your address bar to change shortcuts.

Switch between tabs in the most recently used order, can be configured to use Ctrl+Tab as a shortcut
Cycle through your most recently used tabs (MRU) like Alt+Tab, but, with the shortcut keys Ctrl+Q or Ctrl+`(~) or assign your own!
Switch back to the previously active tab using the keyboard.
Cycle through last used Chrome tabs using keyboard shortcut (Alt+Q).
Use the shortcut <Alt + Q> (or define your own) to switch between your two last used tabs. Requires a one-time payment.
⚡ Instantly switch between your two most recent tabs with Alt+Q. Like Alt+Tab for windows, but for Chrome tabs!
This is genuinely the most helpful extension I've ever had. and I've never written a review on here before. But I seriously love this thing
Thanks a lot for this awesome extension. Would be cool if you could add a drop-down stack of recently used like browser's Ctrl + Shift + A. Or Intelij's Crtl + Tab
I hadn't yet figured out why it wasn't working but as mr. Stahlschmidt already says, if you use chrome tab groups, which I use extensively, you can't use this extension to switch tabs inside the groups. This is a blocker for me, as I have started using tab groups recently and now have almost all my tabs open inside a group. This is a shame as I have been using this extension for a long while now and it has been amazing, so much so that I'm surprised that Chrome doesn't offer this natively. Could you please add the possibility to cycle tabs inside Chrome tab groups? For now I will give it 3 stars but I will update my review as soon as this is fixed, to 5 stars, because it is definitely an amazing extension
Doesn't work with Chromes "Grouping of Tabs" feature unfortunately. Otherwise great extension.
Best extenstion ever! But stopped working after the last Chrome update. I suppose it fails to work normally with active usage of new synced tab groups. Please can you check it?
I use this cycle feature so much, I try to mimic this feature in other software I use to keep the muscle memory. Would love to have this in ObsidianMD, VSCode, etc. Really helps me zip around. This extension has earned a dedicated button on my mouse on desktop pc and trackpad gesture on laptop.
Excellent extension. Unfortunately it doesn't work with the Chrome's new "Tab Group" feature. Will change to a 5 out of 5 once it does. UPDATE: 5 out of 5! Works with the latest version of Chrome.
Please update the code to work for across the group, the extension does'nt work for group feature introduced recently in chrome. It will be a great help if u do so.
Update v2.1: the issue seem fixed! Thanks for the quick fix! Update 2025 March: The app don't cycle through tabs in the Chrome browser anymore, instead it cycles through Chrome app windows... Please fix that!!!!
Three stars, as the extension itself works flawlessly. However ATTN: The author tracks installation and update and has Google Analytics included as well (see `background.js` in the repository for yourself). "Bad smell", as he doesn't point to this fact nowhere, "VERY bad smell". Better use the fork called "Open Last Tab", where this tracking code is removed.
