High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

Showing good display
I wanted it to be the same as high contrast on a Chromebook, but its not. Absolute crap, one star.
I really like this. I've gotten so accustomed to using dark themes on most programs or apps that visiting websites with white backgrounds bothers my eyes. I have only one complaint. I can't have this disabled for selected sites. Yes, there is the "Normal" mode, but on some sites, it still alters the colors of text. Slightly brighter colors get muddied and become darker, which if I already have a dark theme on that site, it makes it hard to read. If you can make it so that I can just straight up have it disabled for certain sites, that would make this a home run for me.

Fed up of it failing to change the site, works sometimes but not all the time. Need to be able to set it so that any URL within a domain is one that changes, this fails after the index page, any pages up the tree fail to change. IMHO poorly designed interface that lacks any setting to just change the background and text so it can be read, found swathes of text in black on black background...
