High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

There needs to be an option NOT to invert the colours of images!
La salvedad de que las páginas que ya son de fondo negro, las convierte en blanco, también podría invertir los colores de todo el google chrome.

There are plenty of lighting, viewing and content considerations which separately or in combo will necessitate using high contrast. I wish the app had the ability to identify the colors that are or are not compatible based on predetermined look and feel goals and color schemes or freeform. Also, it is not easy to turn high contrast off once it is your scheme and it keeps you from adjusting many visual settings you could dial in when not using high-con.
Good. It works reasonably well. It could still use some improvements, like the user-contrast-slider and selectable "range" of color palette which will never invert. Like for example: To be able to invert ONLY those colors which are very close to BLACK or WHITE and let other colors be - to look the same as original :o) :o) :o)
