Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.
What's New in 3.0:
==================
* Updated to Manifest V3.
Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.
This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

Like everyone else, I'm P.O.'ed that they didn't just make this feature a checkbox option in Chrome itself. But I have to go with five stars because it does fix a major problem.
I'm used to use backspace to go back on the computer, so for me is nice to have a way to use it again on chrome. But I guess, it SHOULD be an option on the config menu.
これは標準の機能にするべき
This should never have been an extension, it should have been an option in Chrome itself. Default it to 'off' if you like, but make it a standard option. For those complaining that they have accidentally lost form text when pushing backspace, Chrome could easily have done what all sane browser developers did years ago - if you've entered text on a form and try to leave the page, prompt to confirm. It's Chrome's fault that the problem existed, and their solution is as stupid as the fact that they allowed it to be a problem in the first place.
Love it
This morning, I am adding this extension for the second time for multiple reasons. For one, it literally aggravates me when I tap my back key and I do not go BACK. This movement is ingrained into most individuals minds and is a simple unseen habit. Taking it away is like taking ice cream from a child. You took my ice cream, Google! I dislike the icon on my toolbar as it serves no purpose, which is one reason I removed the extension. And here I see the icon is still part of the package. I am not sure how much "outcry" you need to just reapply the code, though I am also not sure how many individuals know this extension is available. Simply put, RESTORE THE BACK KEY, PLEASE! Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful day!
То что нужно! Всё отлично работает!
I hate that I need this in the first place, but the extension works as it should.
Should be inbuilt to Chrome
There should not be a need for an extension. They should have simply made a toggle option, or a way to map it. Actually this extension does deserve the 1 star it's getting because it is a Google Corporation extension. They need to know what they did wrong. With how advanced technology is it's downright absurd that they didn't take the minuscule amount of time that it would have taken to add in a toggle function, or button mapping function. Google has more than enough technology to be able to handle something like that. Now, had this been a 3rd party extension I would have given it 5 stars because that would have been a developer not associated with google that was trying to help everyone out. However, since this is from the Google company its self.... it's their poor attempt to "right a wrong."So they deserve their 1 star. Less, if that were possible.
