Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.
What's New in 3.0:

* Updated to Manifest V3.
Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.
This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

why the f i have to install an extension for something that should be in chrome already
Do you really need an icon in my toolbar??? PS. Not to mention the idiotic move to remove the backspace shortcut alltogether

Restore backspace. Modern day forms are recognised and a warning box will appear "Are you sure you want to leave this page?" Removing backspace is a backwards step.
When I was on a web page, I used to feel outrage, coz I couldn't press backspace, and browse at my own pace. But now I have downloaded a Chrome extension, it has released all my tension, so I can once again use my keyboard, without feeling that I have just been ignored.

Even if you've seen a bunch of negative reviews, and I understand their frustration as Google shouldn't have disabled a web browser standard keyboard shortcut, this extension re-enables it as it says! In conclusion, I recommend this extension to anyone frustrated by Google's weird decision or people coming from Firefox or Internet Explorer/Edge.

Extensions works. Chrome shouldn't need it to have this work though.
Extension is terrific! Being a DOS girl growing up, I use keyboard commands whenever possible. Taking away the backspace use greatly hurt my productivity. This Extension works in the background to restore sanity to my world!
