Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.

What's New in 3.0:

* Updated to Manifest V3.

Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.

This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

It's pathetic this is even required. backspace has been the back button in every web and file browser I've ever used in my life. Not only was this change breaking a standard but it causes the user to move their hand away from their mouse and to the keyboard. Extremely irritating!!

- What edits we should make in next stable build? - Lets remove backspace key function Said no one... wait... Whose "great" idea this was? And whose idea was "hey, someone maybe doesn't like this, let's create addon to add backspace key function back"?! Why this isn't option in Chrome settings? Plus Shift + Backspace not working ...

既存の機能を削除して有効にする方法をわざわざ拡張で用意するぐらいなら、 削除せずに無効にする方法を拡張機能もしくは設定で用意すれば良かったのでは？

Var olan özelliğin kaldırılıp sonra eklentiyle geri getirilmesi kadar saçma bir olay olamaz... Ya seçenek sunarsın kullanıcıya bir önceki sayfaya hangi tuş kombinasyonuyla gitmek istersin diye, yada backspace tuşundaki aksiyonu başka tuşa atamak isteyenler için uzantı yayınlarsın. yıllardır bu şekilde kullanan bizler için değil.

Installed it, tried trouble shooting, doesn't even function... a poor attempt at making the backspace feature an alternative...

Loosing backspace is terrible, was quite puzzled about this till I found this is a new feature came from chrome update. 99%+ percent of my usage is for general purpose browsing. 1% is for filling forms or making transactions. Many web applications have already taken care of backspace problem by "warning messages", disabling the back button handled with in their web applications. Not sure if the disabling of the back button was a right idea. Hope it will be reviewed in future.
