This tiny and efficient extension adds standard video playback controls to Instagram™ videos. Normally, all you can do with an Instagram™ video is play or pause it, but this extension will expose the native HTML 5 video player which has a seek bar (aka video scrubber), a volume control, a play/pause button, Picture-In-Picture (floating video) button, fullscreen video button, and on *some* videos it will also display a download button!
The extension automatically runs and works on all web pages that embed Instagram™ videos!
How to use it:
1) Load any web page that contains an Instagram video
2) Click the video to make it play
3) That's it - the extension will automatically detect the video and will reveal the control buttons.

It was PERFECT but Meta doesn't like it and forced it to stop working... need a new extension, or hopefully this one gets updated
Stopped working recently. Was great.
Working perfectly for me on the newest Edge update for Windows PC. Even the bottom bar disappears correctly in full screen, which some other extensions fail to do.

this extension used to be great but it's not working on ms edge anymore?
LIke others have written, the controls used to work up until the end of March with only slight errors. However, since the end of March, the controls are visible but are unclickable.
Was great but needs an update. Controls are positioned behind video info since March.
Stopped working for me around end of March 2026 probably due to some updates on Instagram.
The music info bar (showing the song and account name) is overlapping on top of the timeline/progress bar, making it impossible to tap and interact with it. The music layer sits at a higher z-index than the timeline controls, so it intercepts all your taps before they reach the scrubber underneath.
