This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

It used to work for most sites, but now they changed the color to gray and you can't change it back. Used to be decent but now everything just looks ugly. It changes some colors that doesn't need to be changed like color previews, and certain texts into an unreadable black, white, or gray. Why do people make their products worse with unnecessary changes? smh i would give 0 stars if I could.

While this does work really well as a reader, DO NOT use this if you do any type of web development with HTML or CSS. The Dark Reader will inject CSS into your source code and make your pages dark all the time. I didn't realize it was doing this until a colleague of mine visited a page I had worked on, and it rendered part of it in dark mode for them and they did not have the extension installed. BE CAREFUL! It's a great "reader", but I wish it didn't inject CSS/HTML into source code editors when editing things web-based.
