This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

Does not work on Yandex sites. Although the extension is in 'ON' state, the button next to 'ON' is crossed out. Also the extension makes web pages load longer, with delays, etc.

This is it: THE BEST Dark Mode Extension for Chrome! I tried so many and they all have too many flaws and quirks. Most of the others also have only a blanket setting where they are either on or off for all pages and that's that. Other others had a whitelist setting, but no way to invert it, so it was on by default and you'd have to disable for every site that it didn't work well on or wasn't necessary on. Dark Reader is the only one I found that lets you have it disabled by default and only enabled for sites you specify. I find that only some sites need the treatment nowadays and I can toggle Dark Reader for them whenever I come across them! Perfect! On top of that, the dynamic theme, just like another reviewer said, truly works like a charm! So far all the sites I've used it on look clean and pleasant. The settings in the extension window popup are very easy to use and let you fine tune things for all sites or specifically for a single site. There's even a dev tools module that lets you view and edit the CSS to tinker and submit fixes you might figure out to the extension developer!
