This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

After several disappointing try, I finally found this invaluable extension. It works perfectly with all the original background and font colors. Unfortunately, I found it had stopped working on YouTube since yesterday.

very flexible settings, if you add different settings for background and text color it should be more comfortable or change grayscale and text color proportionally.

I've toyed with and experimented upon several different iterations of the "dark theme" style, and in the many methods with which developers have sought to implement it with uniformity from the browser, the CSS, etc. None before Dark Reader have engineered a night mode functionality reliably bug-free. Dark Reader offers a dark night experience that is at once sophisticated, uniform and highly configurable. The novice web user like myself can easily toggle Dark Reader on or off, whitelist sites that otherwise are degraded by a night mode UX, and, when time crunches and configuration is itself too time consuming, the extension can be easily toggled off altogether----and without any noticeable impact on GPU or processing power. This extension ROCKS.
