This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

After you change certain settings, you need to reload pages to see them correctly. Otherwise, they are quite bright when using a dark scheme, until you change a setting or reload the page.

This is by far the only extension that does what it needs to well without making the page all wonky. The only problem or suggestions I would give is that I don't necessarily want my whole page black. If it gave a blue-ish or grey version (like Twitter night mode) without needing to toggle the brightness lower, that would be amazing. Also, just my picky self, the icons on the notification bar are not very appealing. If I were a marketer or a brand designer, the icon would not sell well the general public.
