This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.
Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.
This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

Perfect! Eyestrain much reduced, as is power consumption and screen wear.
wish we can make the option and setting easier to control and set a fix on some fonts where it wont show up in dark mode
this is amazing, works well. I haven't found a site where it doesn't work... yet
6 stars for this. I use "Site List">"Inverted list Only" in option, this feature is what I am looking for. Much appreciated for such awesome extension.
While loading a new site or opening a new tab, the background turns white momentarily. That really stresses the eyes. Plus colors of pictures shared on Facebook Messenger get inverted in the chatbox. Pictures appear normal when clicked on it but enlarged picture has a white background. Other than that, I love it! I have downloaded it after reading a lot of reviews rather than trying other extensions myself. After adding the extension, I am fully content. I got just what I need.
EDIT 14MAY2017: Enabling hardware acceleration fixes this problem. I still don't like the fact that it forces me to have to turn H.A. on for it to work well because there are some websites that I need H.A. off to work well. 13MAY2017: Lately it causes lag when turned on, especially when scrolling up and down pages.
I love to make people puzzled by doing one command and invert the colors with one shortcut, then watch them do the same shortcut and fail. Anyway here are the Pros and Cons: Pros: Lovely idea, great for at night. Cons: It should turn down the brightness further than farthest down for full impact and it does not invert colors for some websites. But overall it is great and is well made.
