This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

About the same as other contrast/color inverters. They all seem to be the same to me, I only wish it did not reverse/distort the background pictures (gmail, youtube). I hate that it tweaks the grayscale on the video that I am watching, but otherwise, it works great.

Thank you, Alexander! This is a fantastic extension. For those having problems, due to having inversion active, try using the "Not inverted" button under the "Site list" tab and add the URL you don't want inverted to it (I found this preferable to adding sites to "Inverted"). Adding a URL is easy - just click on the URL listed in the "Toggle on / off" button. You can also toggle the extension off, either manually or by using hot keys. You can even customise brightness, contrast, greyscale and sepia to create a look you are more comfortable with.

Awesome! It works! I was surprise to find out that it also darken the background of youtube. Before this I had a seperate extension to darken youtube, but with this I can watch youtube with a dark background and look at website pages with dark background! I'm very happy with this extension!
