This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.
ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.
In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

Coole Idee, habe mich auch bereits auf ChatGPT search gefreut, aber über 2 Ecken mit einer Suchanfrage und anschließend einem neuen Chat öffnen, find ich das absolut nicht gut. Ich bin gespannt auf SearchGPT, ob dort die gleiche Lösung kommen wird.
All this does is open chatgpt and ask what i searched for. How is this a search? It's just chatgpt with web enabled.

As Adam Goldman below had said: The UX isn't great, opening a new chat window on every search is annoying not to mention it adds to the chat history on the left so now finding more important chats will be harder as there will be an annoying long list of chats that are searches, this doesn't work as an extension without a full reskin of the UI/UX for search, Chat is not search so don't expect the behaviors to be the same ... I want this in my search I just don't want to do it this way, I'll put this on ice until this is figured out Well, while I would like to be able to open SearchGPT results in a new page, rather than in the main chat page, the SearchGPT ad that was shown when the beta test was announced in June or July looked much more aesthetic and, well, candid.
Please, make all searches as temporal chat (Toggle On/Off). I literally tried to delete every single chat for what I've searched.

Une fois cette extension installée, il n'est plus possible de choisir un autre moteur de recherche par défaut, il faut désactiver l'extension pour pouvoir utiliser un autre moteur de recherche sur son navigateur. On pourrait appeler cela de l'abus de pouvoir... Bref, je l'ai désactivé et j'utiliserai ChatGPT via son site web ou son application...
Please add an additional section for web searches to prevent the default chat navigation from becoming cluttered with numerous web inquiries. Then it gets 5 stars.
