AI 产品解读View and edit Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) directly in Chrome using Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides as the rendering and editing engine
Allows users to open and work with Microsoft Office documents without having Microsoft Office installed on their computer, using Google's free web-based editors instead
User opens an Office file (by clicking, dragging into Chrome, or via Gmail/Drive). The extension intercepts the file via MIME handler registration, opens it in a tab using its built-in QOWT (Quickoffice Web Toolkit) rendering engine, and presents a basic editor. User can view/edit the file, then save back to Office format or convert to Google Docs/Sheets/Slides format (requires Google Account sign-in for conversion and Drive features).

- 目标用户
- Chrome users who need to view or edit Microsoft Office files without owning Microsoft Office / Users of Google Docs/Sheets/Slides who receive Office format files / Chrome OS users (extension pre-installed)
- The extension's core JS files (mainApp.js, mainQOWT.js) are heavily minified, making deep code flow analysis difficult
- Cannot fully verify whether basic view-only mode works without login from source alone - the sign-in messages are for conversion/copy actions specifically
- Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) may have additional paid tiers but those are external to the extension itself
付费分析未识别到付费功能
No evidence of paid features, subscriptions, payment processing, or upgrade prompts in the extension source. The 'promo' dialogs are for Office Compatibility Mode conversion to Google Docs format (a free feature), not payment-related. No terms like premium, subscription, payment, purchase, billing, or upgrade were found. The keyword matches for 'pro' and 'stripe' are false positives from words like 'process', 'promo' (feature promotion), 'predefined process', and 'diagonal_stripe' (a UI pattern).

- The extension requires a Google Account to perform core workflow actions such as converting Office files to Google Docs/Sheets/Slides format and saving copies to Google Drive. Multiple locale strings confirm this: 'You need to sign in to your Google Account in order to convert this file' and 'You need to sign in to your Google Account in order to make a copy.' The extension uses the 'identity' and 'identity.email' permissions for Google authentication. However, basic viewing of locally-opened Office files may work without login.

annoying
Can't get it to work.
xlsxの和暦の表示形式を入れたセルがまともに表示できないようです。xlsだと見たり見えなかったりするが、原因がよくわからない。見えない理由出せないだろうか・・・。
formatting is very poor. libre office is far better. surprised Google would even talk about this at i/o. it is not usable for anything with formatting.
I can't edit MS Office files from Gmail. Only drag and drop, and from Drive.
Ever since I installed this extension, documents will no longer open. I just get a blank white chrome tab with the extension's address at the top, and no content. Has effectively blocked my access to all document attachments on all websites.
I like where you are going with this, as it is much needed. Unfortunately, there are number of issues with the formatting when attempting to use this tool. I grabbed one of my basic word documents and the following issues where what I found. * Table of Contents not appearing. * Field codes -If field codes are used in the document, the results appear where they should be hidden, and do not appear at all where they should be referenced. * Footers appear to not retain the correct formatting. * Page numbering shows incorrectly - stating Page 4 of (blank) where it should state Page 1 of 13. (note, page numbering was not started on first page). * Bulleted numbering seem to get out of place. * Spacing inside of tables seems to be off. For instance, if you have a column table, in Word, it looks like there is a space at the borderbetween first and second column (a | b), whereas in the extension, it looks like they are directly against the border (a|b). * Embedded worksheets do not appear (this is less important, but would be a huge win). Allowing Word users to see and track changes would also be a huge feature. If you could fix the above issues, then we would likely be using Google Apps for our work, as our primary problem is being able to review/edit/collaberate with customers on their documents, and be able to retain the original formatting.
good and helpful
