View and edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files - without needing Office installed on your computer.
Once the extension is installed, Office files that you drag into Chrome, open in Gmail, Google Drive and more will be opened in Docs, Sheets and Slides for viewing and editing.
You can save each file back to its original Office format or convert it to Docs, Sheets or Slides to unlock more features, like inviting others to edit with you, commenting, chatting and more.

worked well until webpage error and then my two hours of work was not saved. I thought it is mean to save automatically every few minutes!!
Worked perfectly until just a few days ago. No longer does it open my .pptx or .doc documents (not sure about other file types because I havent had to open any), and now it just saves all documents directly to my computer when I attempt to view them in chrome. If anyone knows a way to fix this please let me know, because this is one of my favorite extensions that allows me to avoid cluttering my computer with documents that i do not need.

I tried using this for the first time today. When I open a Word document from Drive, it opens in edit mode and I can edit (so far so good). So - I start typing and changes are being saved for about 20 seconds and then it errors out and says changes are not being saved and it gives me the option to save to my hard drive. Is anyone else having this issue???
It was great at first. Helped me open up all of my Microsoft extensions. I deleted it by accident one day, and when I downloaded it back onto my Chromebook, it wouldn't work anymore. It opens up another tab, but the tab is just a blank white page. It was great before, but it doesn't work at all anymore. Can anybody help me with this?
