Once the extension is installed, Office files that you drag into Chrome, open in Gmail, Google Drive and more will be opened in Docs, Sheets and Slides for viewing and editing.

You can save each file back to its original Office format or convert it to Docs, Sheets or Slides to unlock more features, like inviting others to edit with you, commenting, chatting and more.

We are receiving an Error 404 when attempting to preview Microsoft Office attachments to emails or open Office files which are saved in Google Drive. This is completely stopping our employees from being productive because not everyone has Office on their computers to work - we need this extension to do our jobs. This began after moving to the latest version of Chrome stable 69.0.3497.92 (Official Build) (64-bit). I will update my rating if this is fixed.

Poxa vida, o meu depois da Att do Chrome, simplesmente sumiu algumas opções de formatação do texto. E foi a que eu mais uso que é pra mudar os textos em caixa alta para caixa baixa. Agora as opções que aparecem pra mim é somente as mais básicas de formatação, que é alinhar texto e colocar em negrito, itálico ou sublinhado. Acaba que pra outros recursos preciso abrir o maldito Office!

A major feature of this extension that isn't mentioned in the developer's description: It stops .docx and other files from automatically downloading to your hard drive and instead opens them in a new tab using Google Docs/Sheets/Slides/whatever. I spent a lot of time looking for an extension that could do exactly this, and the few that exist did not work (or they did, but not on every site--and often the sites they didn't work on were the ones I needed them on). This extension is fantastic. It's very low-key and doesn't disrupt my work. It makes schoolwork far easier and efficient, and I am SO glad I found this!
