Opens each link in anywhere between 1 and 3 new tabs. All are in background though, so have a second star :) Also, would be nice to have ability to customise/filter which tabs open (or which behaviour causes them to open) background, which open foreground.

I agree with everyone else, I love this extension but I really would prefer that new blank tabs open in the foreground. Update: And the dev fixed it promptly... nice.
Like the comments below, I think it used to be better with foreground tabs opened through ctrl+t.

+1 on Mr. Cangucu's review, love this app but I want NEW TABs to open in FOREGROUND. Why did you switch this behavior?
It was very good, but with the new Chrome version, it also forces the new tab that I opened (with shift+t) to background. Those I want to open in foreground.

I use this to get new tabs from Feedly to appear in the background, since "Feedly Background Tab" doesn't work right. The blinking is noticeable, but better than not having the tab open in the background at all. That said, an option to have the extension only activate on certain domains would be very welcome. EDIT: As of late 2019, using this with "New Tab Redirect" and enabling "Always update tab, not redirect" causes the current tab to be selected when opening a new tab manually. This means that when that new tab is closed, so is the current one. This is new behavior, presumably caused by a recent change to Chrome, as another extension with functionality similar to "Force Background Tab" causes the same issue. Disabling "Always update tab" fixes this issue, but that means that focus remains on the current tab when opening a new one manually, which is not what I want.
