With this extension you can easily search for text you have selected. When some text is selected you can left click the selected text to get a popup where you can choose a search engine to search with.
In the options page you can customize the look of the menu, which mouse button that should activate the menu, which search engines to show, and a lot of other things.

When you install this extension you will get a warning that this extension can:
"Access your data on all websites."
This is needed because the code for the popup-menu needs to be added to every website for it to work.

Abandonware! Needs to be updated desperately. The mycoft plugin site no longer works in tandem with this once useful search tool. Search plugins break and need updating but can't be. Middle mouse button support has never worked and the context menu won't even come up anymore automatically. Looking for a suitable replacement as this one has clearly been abandoned.
I was looking for a replacement of the now defunct "Context Search". Found "Selection Search" and it's even better! Light, full of settings, efficient... 20/20
Pretty cool! Might be easier for some users to give some more default search engines. If you're having trouble, use the mycroftproject.com links!
I want to know , how to add the open url in new tab. Could you please give me some advice? Thank you. ================= the best extension on Firefox is "Swift Selection Search", this extension is so cool .easy to use ,just like Swift Selection Search. but i didn't find the function "search on current website". this is also a useful function.
