AI 产品解读Classroom management web helper extension that extends LanSchool Student software capabilities in Chrome, enabling teacher-side monitoring and control of student browsing activity
Helps teachers maintain an effective learning environment by monitoring student web browsing, enforcing website filtering policies, blanking student screens during class, capturing screenshots for oversight, detecting banned words in student keystrokes, and managing browser tabs remotely
Extension runs passively on student devices. It connects to locally installed LanSchool Student software either via localhost HTTP requests (Windows) or Chrome extension messaging (Chromebook). The teacher controls student browsing through the LanSchool Teacher console. The web helper monitors URL changes, reports browsing history, enforces web filtering (blocking/allowing URLs per teacher policy), captures tab screenshots, blanks student screens on command, and detects banned words typed by students. If LanSchool Student software is not running, the extension becomes dormant and inactive.

- 目标用户
- Students in LanSchool-managed classrooms (extension installed on student Chromebooks/browsers)
- The extension is a companion to proprietary LanSchool Student software, so full end-to-end functionality cannot be tested without that infrastructure
- The ChromeAppsWhitelist (referenced at line 1600) contents are not visible in the source but determine which external extensions can communicate with this one
- LanSchool the commercial product may have paid licensing for schools, but that is external to the extension itself
付费分析未识别到付费功能
No payment, subscription, billing, license, upgrade, premium, or feature-gating mechanisms exist anywhere in the extension source code. A grep for subscribe|premium|trial|license|upgrade|checkout|payment|stripe across all 32 text files returned zero matches. All keyword hits for 'pro' are false positives from locale strings ('product_name'), JavaScript built-ins (Promise, Promise.reject), property/prototype references, and copyright notices. The extension itself is a free companion helper for LanSchool classroom management software; while LanSchool as a product is commercially sold to schools, the extension contains no internal paid features.

- The extension does not implement any login UI or authentication flow. The 'studentLoginName' (background.js line 690) is extracted automatically from system context passed by LanSchool Student software—it is not a user authentication prompt. The extension operates passively: it monitors browsing, communicates with local LanSchool Student software via localhost HTTP and Chrome extension messaging, and becomes dormant when no LanSchool Student software is connected. No login credentials, OAuth, or account creation is required from the student user.
This spy software is pretty sketchy considering that the teacher can see everything that you type or do on your computer. They even blocked this on the school computer so I had to write this review on my computer at home. It blocks a lot of websites that i think should be unblocked, but when my friend sent me a porn link as a joke, it did't block that website.
Literally useless. doesnt do its job very well, kinda exploitable.
This app is actually illegal. It is fine on the school computers, but if you sign in on your school account at home, they have control over your personal computer. I hope the creator of this app chokes on a dick and dies.

Before anybody gets the wrong idea, I would like to point out a few things. I am a 16 year old High School Sophomore. I am not a teacher, and I am not affiliated with LanSchool in any way. This review is legitimate. I decided to review it due to some of the other reviews on here (though most made me laugh). LanSchool is not spyware, nor a "breach of privacy" like most of you point out. This extension is installed onto SCHOOL computers. I SERIOUSLY hope you aren't do anything sketchy on one of those. Seriously, don't do anything on a school computer that you do not want your teachers seeing. LanSchool exists to allow your teachers to keep track of where you are, monitor you to make sure you stay on track, moderate what sites you visit, and help you through your computer. It is a tool for not only teachers, but us students as well. Please do not say "I cannot remove the extension! It is a virus!". Of course you can't, its being managed by your district. Being able to remove this tool from your computer is the equivalent to complaining because you can't have admin permissions on a school computer. It won't happen. Why would your district remove a tool that moderates what you do on SCHOOL property? Too risky. However, there are a couple problems with this extension. Number one being the transparent icon. That's a con on their side. I believe the transparent image was placed there so people wouldn't look too far into it. Nonetheless, the icon doesn't change the productivity in any way. Do not vote not helpful because you disagree with my point on privacy. Using school computers is agreeing to your information being shared with the school. If you do not want your teachers to know what you are doing, bring your own laptop to school. Seriously, once again, it is SCHOOL property. You shouldn't be doing anything but schoolwork on it anyway. If you disagree with my points, you are immature. Grow up. This tool was created to help you, no need to cry because it blocks some websites and lets your teachers see your search history. All-in-all, LanSchool is a decent tool. It has allowed my teacher to help me in multiple ways and kept me on track when I was falling off.
