AI 产品解读Classroom management web helper extension that extends LanSchool Student software capabilities in Chrome, enabling teacher-side monitoring and control of student browsing activity
Helps teachers maintain an effective learning environment by monitoring student web browsing, enforcing website filtering policies, blanking student screens during class, capturing screenshots for oversight, detecting banned words in student keystrokes, and managing browser tabs remotely
Extension runs passively on student devices. It connects to locally installed LanSchool Student software either via localhost HTTP requests (Windows) or Chrome extension messaging (Chromebook). The teacher controls student browsing through the LanSchool Teacher console. The web helper monitors URL changes, reports browsing history, enforces web filtering (blocking/allowing URLs per teacher policy), captures tab screenshots, blanks student screens on command, and detects banned words typed by students. If LanSchool Student software is not running, the extension becomes dormant and inactive.

- 目标用户
- Students in LanSchool-managed classrooms (extension installed on student Chromebooks/browsers)
- The extension is a companion to proprietary LanSchool Student software, so full end-to-end functionality cannot be tested without that infrastructure
- The ChromeAppsWhitelist (referenced at line 1600) contents are not visible in the source but determine which external extensions can communicate with this one
- LanSchool the commercial product may have paid licensing for schools, but that is external to the extension itself

No payment, subscription, billing, license, upgrade, premium, or feature-gating mechanisms exist anywhere in the extension source code. A grep for subscribe|premium|trial|license|upgrade|checkout|payment|stripe across all 32 text files returned zero matches. All keyword hits for 'pro' are false positives from locale strings ('product_name'), JavaScript built-ins (Promise, Promise.reject), property/prototype references, and copyright notices. The extension itself is a free companion helper for LanSchool classroom management software; while LanSchool as a product is commercially sold to schools, the extension contains no internal paid features.

- The extension does not implement any login UI or authentication flow. The 'studentLoginName' (background.js line 690) is extracted automatically from system context passed by LanSchool Student software—it is not a user authentication prompt. The extension operates passively: it monitors browsing, communicates with local LanSchool Student software via localhost HTTP and Chrome extension messaging, and becomes dormant when no LanSchool Student software is connected. No login credentials, OAuth, or account creation is required from the student user.
I'm scared to go on any games because the teacher is always checking my screen
This is terrible. It gets forced on one laptop and now it seeps into your phone and other devices through your google account and through YouTube accounts and through e-Mail accounts. This is a violation of every single American user's Constitutional Right to Privacy. I suggest finding a LanSchool killing program or something of the sort that will control this satanic 'extension.' Also, this works like AIDS. It looks like it doesn't harm anything but once it infiltrates it goes to work messing you up. Its very sneaky and ruins your technology. It is AIDS. We all are being forced to get AIDS. That has got to be illegal right? Or because one kid got caught doing one thing wrong everyone else gets AIDS? Really? Stoneware should be destroyed. Where do you think they get money? From selling their software? Or from Keylogging its users via an extension and stealing credit card information? I entered my stuff to add funds to Steam and found that my debit card had decided to buy itself lots of expensive crap. So yeah, this is a really SH*TTY extension that I will be forcing off of my laptop.
Just no.
boo
Almost comparable to malware. I know Stoneware has the best intentions, but creating an environment of fear and anxiety by allowing a teacher to watch everything you do doesn't really improve work performance or behavior. On another note, if a teacher can't see you aren't doing what you should be doing, then they aren't going to realize how many ways software can be disabled with other programs.
yay teachers come spy on me fack sake
Thanks for lettign me no longer have any privac!! thanks Hitler. i mean Stoneware
This is the stupidest piece of crap ever, I contracted ebola & genital herpes, and I also am pregnant with triplets, because of this malware, I'm going to dowse myself in kerosine, light it, then run around in a sauna.
Slows down my computer to where it can barley even function now, great...
Dear stoneware, You make my day so sucky, Web helper more like web killer, the ability to make my teacher a government spy on me. Not cool in fact in my school when teachers put lanschool on the only noises that are to be heard are those of frustration and hatred. WHY would you create something that gets rid of our freedom? Thanks you lanschool the only thing you ever taught me was communism,to fear for my life and to know that I'm always watched and that I have no rights to learn. Sincerely, Jayden"The Buss"
