AI 产品解读Classroom management web helper extension that extends LanSchool Student software capabilities in Chrome, enabling teacher-side monitoring and control of student browsing activity
Helps teachers maintain an effective learning environment by monitoring student web browsing, enforcing website filtering policies, blanking student screens during class, capturing screenshots for oversight, detecting banned words in student keystrokes, and managing browser tabs remotely
Extension runs passively on student devices. It connects to locally installed LanSchool Student software either via localhost HTTP requests (Windows) or Chrome extension messaging (Chromebook). The teacher controls student browsing through the LanSchool Teacher console. The web helper monitors URL changes, reports browsing history, enforces web filtering (blocking/allowing URLs per teacher policy), captures tab screenshots, blanks student screens on command, and detects banned words typed by students. If LanSchool Student software is not running, the extension becomes dormant and inactive.

- 目标用户
- Students in LanSchool-managed classrooms (extension installed on student Chromebooks/browsers)
- The extension is a companion to proprietary LanSchool Student software, so full end-to-end functionality cannot be tested without that infrastructure
- The ChromeAppsWhitelist (referenced at line 1600) contents are not visible in the source but determine which external extensions can communicate with this one
- LanSchool the commercial product may have paid licensing for schools, but that is external to the extension itself
付费分析未识别到付费功能
No payment, subscription, billing, license, upgrade, premium, or feature-gating mechanisms exist anywhere in the extension source code. A grep for subscribe|premium|trial|license|upgrade|checkout|payment|stripe across all 32 text files returned zero matches. All keyword hits for 'pro' are false positives from locale strings ('product_name'), JavaScript built-ins (Promise, Promise.reject), property/prototype references, and copyright notices. The extension itself is a free companion helper for LanSchool classroom management software; while LanSchool as a product is commercially sold to schools, the extension contains no internal paid features.

- The extension does not implement any login UI or authentication flow. The 'studentLoginName' (background.js line 690) is extracted automatically from system context passed by LanSchool Student software—it is not a user authentication prompt. The extension operates passively: it monitors browsing, communicates with local LanSchool Student software via localhost HTTP and Chrome extension messaging, and becomes dormant when no LanSchool Student software is connected. No login credentials, OAuth, or account creation is required from the student user.
The fact that it allows 40 year old men to "spy" on us children is absoulutly ubsurd
kys commit toaster bath commit neck rope commit bridge jump kermit sewerside drink bleach commit not feel so good LANSCHOOL IS RETERD
EDIT: (NO OUTRAGED COMMENTS! THIS IS MY OPINION AND YOU DON'T NEED TO AGREE.) TL;DR: LanSchool sucks and it is illegal. So lets get one thing straight. I am a student who hates LanSchool. And i can give you many reasons why. First off, this is a spyware and is downloaded to the school computers using a virus. Secondly, being able to watch my screen at any which time, creepy much? Third, the uses of this "Application" aren't even in the 1:1/ School Chromebook policy we agreed to at the beginning of the year (Making it illegal). The problem with it being a spyware alone is enough to get it taken down, but also being downloaded using a virus, and it being illegal? That should be more than enough to have a charge of criminal penalties. The problem with it is if i search a word, such as Sex (for Sex Ed.) or Virgin Islands, it blocks whatever comes up because of what I searched. If we were doing an important project that was worth 500-600 points, and we can't get the info we need, then what are we supposed to do? I can't sleep easy knowing the fact that people are watching me through my chromebooks camera when i have it charging at night. If anyone rates this illegal spyware of a virus more than a 2 star rating, then they need to reconsider their decisions. Now, at school, using this to keep students on-task is reasonable, but researching for a paper, and having the site that you trust, and has the facts being blocked when you're 10-20 miles away from the hell that you have to go through for 7.5-8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 18 years of your life? that is unreasonable. Again, this should be taken down, just for the spyware. I am still shaking my head at how stupid this is. Plus, its an invasion of privacy, so another illegal thing. and, did I mention that in order to write a review, i have to install it? like its not watching me enough, i have to install this stupid app in order to review it and speak my mind. I can't wait for the day when The Students of America v. The LanSchool Developers comes. I'll be sure to attend. (Edit 2): This is the Chrome web store report abuse page itself: The Chrome Web Store doesn’t allow items that transmit viruses, worms, defects, Trojan horses, malware, or other destructive items. Also, we don’t allow items involved in password or account sign-in phishing scams, or items that handle your data in a non-transparent way. Examples: Stealing your financial or sign-in info Interfering with networks or servers The Chrome Web Store doesn’t allow items that trick you into installing something. Examples: Tricking you into installing extensions with deceptive or socially engineered inline installation pages on websites Forcing you to install something by trapping you in full-screen mode Suppressing Chrome’s warnings about extensions you’ve installed Blocking you from uninstalling an item yet it still exits on the Chrome Web Store. (edit 3:) the way you just INSTALL it is so bad, that it might as well be a virus, that along with the fact you cant uninstall it...
