This seems to be the best if its kind, lots of options. I'm using it in Opera. I don't notice any slowdown. I like the low contrast option in the inverted mode as it brings the blacks and dark grays up a bit.

Useful at first. Then I started having certain web pages almost completely lock up my computer, consuming almost all resources available (16 GB RAM and i7-4770q cpu usage almost 100 percent). I couldn't figure out what it was until I thought of Deluminate... and sure enough! moment I turned it off, pages that were computer breaking (amazon, some canadian new page, etc.) work just fine now. Will not be using again, look elsewhere for a night mode for chrome.

Pros: 1) Inverted webpage look simply wonderful. 2) Multiple invert options. Cons: 1) Too slow on facebook. Suggestions: 1) Make saved site customizations editable in option page. 2) Make an option that invert webpage if and only if the webpage background is light-colored.

I work on computers as a software engineer all day long and always feel the need to use dark-themes (black background with white/light text) to attempt to save my eyes and little wherever I can. For PDF readers, IDEs, terminal windows, and most software this is simple, but for the web not so much. After searching through multiple options I settled on this extension. While many comments suggest this isn't the perfect solution - and it isn't - it is about the best you can expect for something at essentially is hacking the page to create the dark effect. The only perfect solution would be one offered natively through the websites, and some forums and sites do offer custom color themes. Some sites will not react well to this plugin, but this certainly helps ease my eye pain from staring at white backgrounds on most sites I encounter, and offers some options to tweak the contrast and image inversion as well.

I tried all the others, in my opinion deluminate looks the best and does what it's supposed to do. Occasionally images get reversed, but you just click it off in the upper right. That is also the case with all the others I've tired. I think Deluminate deserves more attention. I'm all about dark screen these days after looking into a light bulb for 20 years.
