Twitch Live

Twitch TV extension for displaying a user's favorite channels which are currently live.

NOTE: Version 3.0.2 is a beta. Please report any issues.

Twitch Live is a browser extension for Google Chrome that makes it easy to check which of your favorite Twitch.tv channels are currently live. You can also configure the extension to send you a notification when one of your favorite streams goes online.

Extension was developed by Mike Chambers. Design by Ben Griffith.

Once the extension has been installed it will place a small monitor / TV icon on the top right of your browser window. NOTE YOU MUST NOW PIN THE EXTENSION IN CHROME IN ORDER TO SEE THE ICON. Open the options tab by right clicking the icon, and selecting options. Once the options tab is open, enter your Twitch.tv user name, and click save.

Simple and effective. Personally I don't care about browsing streams. I just want notifications because the iOS app notifications are garbage and never reliable. :( The "Twitch Now" extension uses a background process that launch at startup from what Google Chrome says. this extensions is much simpler and doesn't require that. Also this extension let you open stream in a popup window. Not quite as good as OS X "picture in picture" mode but a decent alternative.

I love almost everything about it. The only thing I dislike is that if my computer is in sleep mode, when it's woken up, all the "gone live" notifications for the entire time it was sleeping proceed to pop up 3 at a time. Sometimes it can be very, very long.

Great way to get in and out of twitch favoritres, very lightweight notifications and super easy to access as well as easy to read. My only wish is to be able to add certain favorited games on the list as well as just streamers. Great job!

Hey Mike, I enjoy your program. Thank You! Just a recommendation though. Similar apps have sound notifications. If you can add sound, that'd be awesome for when I'm resting my eyes.

Chrome taskmanager showed 200MB usage (after several hours), simply clicking the app button then reduced memory usage back to 22MB, so please check and improve how and when the app flushes its memory. Looks like its collecting data for every stream even if the streamer went off already. Other then that the app itself works fine for me.
