Extension to return old Twitter layout from 2015 (or 2018). WORKS IN 2026!
This extension doesn't add any CSS on top of original Twitter. It's fully different client that replaces original new Twitter client, making it faster than alternatives that just add style on top of Twitter. This extension requires you to be logged in to Twitter account.
Please visit https://twitter.com/old/settings after installing to make it work just as you like. It switches to chronological timeline by default, you can switch back to algorithmical timeline in settings.
You can visit unchanged Twitter by visiting https://twitter.com?newtwitter=true.
The code is open source! Check https://github.com/dimdenGD/OldTwitter to see the code and report any issues.

works pretty well, but recently the search function broke. It only displays 2-3 results, while searching on regular twitter shows hundreds

I cannot use twitter without this extension. Twitter is extremely laggy and uses up a lot of memory when this extension makes everything easier on my old laptop. 10/10.
Needs to have a verified followers tab like X does, other than that it is okay.
It's perfect. I really dislike the new ui and am not fond of the recent changes to the website, so I am glad something like this exists.
The new Twitter/X is designed to make you go through a Rabbit whole of content and it gets dark, graphic and even traumatizing so quickly. This plugin bring back the old layout of Twitter to allow you to only see the content you are following, not the cesspool Twitter/X has become. It has honestly helped with my addition to the site and I can finally feel safe on Twitter again.
