Extension to return old Twitter layout from 2015 (or 2018). WORKS IN 2026!
This extension doesn't add any CSS on top of original Twitter. It's fully different client that replaces original new Twitter client, making it faster than alternatives that just add style on top of Twitter. This extension requires you to be logged in to Twitter account.
Please visit https://twitter.com/old/settings after installing to make it work just as you like. It switches to chronological timeline by default, you can switch back to algorithmical timeline in settings.
You can visit unchanged Twitter by visiting https://twitter.com?newtwitter=true.
The code is open source! Check https://github.com/dimdenGD/OldTwitter to see the code and report any issues.

I love this extension, using this made me feel like I returned back in my time. I love how it's customizable, I might try it. It would be awesome to use this along with a windows mod to make your desktop look like windows 7/XP.
I really like it, but I'd like to request a way to write threads on this. There's no way to add threaded tweets while composing a tweet on its own...

Works fine on all my browsers except Firefox. At times, pages didn't even load; they just continuously refreshed and I had to disable the extension. It has improved considerably, due to recent updates I presume, but this issue still persists. Also it fakes notifications; right-clicking on either < or > icons will reveal the Twitter icon with a red dot on it. However, despite looking through my notifications, the red icon persists.

I'm using it right now, the only problem is that the headers are too large when I click on a profile. Anyone know a fix?
I really like this, the only thing I'd want is to be able to change specific parts back. I don't really like how the messages look, and would much prefer the current version. They're not in chronological, when the messages tab is open, new/unread messages aren't highlighted, so it's hard to navigate.
