I have found that after the latest update, when trying to "tab" from who to text to the text box, it no longer works. If I hit the tab key now, it takes me out of the extension box entirely and I have to click back into the text entry box. After that tab works just fine, but it is rather annoying.

Other reviews have captured some of the limitations of the extension, such as being unable to make and receive calls directly from the extension. This is a very annoying limitation. However, one problem I have is that there is no notification sound options. It's the bell, or nothing. Why does this matter? I live in Florida, and I have a dog that's deathly afraid of thunderstorms. They happen to be quite frequent here, unlike in Mountain View, CA. She is also pretty smart, and has generalized the alarm beep of my APC UPS as an indicator of a thunderstorm. The bell notification sound in the GV extension happens to be at the same pitch as my UPS alarm bell, so if I enable my notification sounds, my dog has a panic attack every time I get a message. A few options for that would be much appreciated.

Bug popped up today, the extension notification is stuck at 1. I checked my whole GV account and can't find anything unread. I've had 2 people send me texts, so I have 2 unread messages but the icon still says 1. I've restarted Chrome, rebooted the PC and reinstalled the extension. Still says 1. I've even cleared the extension data and it's just stuck at 1.

This is a good extension... GREAT even... BUT it has all sorts of annoying quirks, and the latest update seems to have made it worse! I'm sure we all have encountered the tab-order bug when sending multiple messages without closing the popup. Now it seeems, tab doesn't even work anymore! After writing a message, if you hit tab, the focus goes completely outside of the popup! If you click back into the text-box and hit tab again, THEN it'll shift focus to the "send" button. This is rather annoying! I had learned to live with the old tab-bug but this is just frustrating. I'm beginning to consider using the web-interface again instead, where the tab key actually works. Please fix this, Google! I will rate higher if it ever is.

I love it. Only real problem I have with it is that there should be a confirmation to delete texts. I've accidentally clicked 'Delete' instead of 'Archive' a few times.

Arrgh! The only problem I have with this is that when you go to write a text through the extension, and have something written and then you click away on another area of the screen, when you come back, the phone number you were texting is either A) gone, or WORSE B) filled in with another contact (probably the last contact to have been texted). This is a problem. I have already texted the wrong person with disastrous consequences because of this. Please fix!

I love it, BUT maybe it's just me. Spell check seems to tell me I miss spelled something as I type, but I can't right click on it and get suggested fixes...Need fix. Chrome for Mac latest 17.
