- If you don't like the extension turning numbers into Voice icon links, you can turn it off in the extension options.

This was great until they removed the ability to send texts from the browser bar. Now you have to open up the full voice.google.com site. That kind of defeats the whole purpose of having the extension. At least you can still read incoming texts.
The only function that remains is reading messages. Can't use it to respond or place calls anymore.

Used to be great. Now I cannot send a text from it. It's read-only, effective about 3-4 weeks ago.
I have used this extension quite happily since sometime before 2010 iirc. I have loved google voice since 2007. I understand Google has dropped support for their extension with the new branding of voice.google.com. The Chrome extension will no longer send messages. I can still view messages, but not reply or send now.
This has worked most of the time. For the last 2 days nope can't send a text can't do anything. Great now they are taking hangouts away. Pitiful.
I can't tell if there was an update or what but I can no longer text from my computer. It keeps saying please try again. It was beautiful. Worked perfect for me every day since I installed it. Then about a week ago Nada. I'm really disappointed and hope it's fixed soon.
Not useful anymore.
They ruined it!!!!! I've been using this for years!!!! Why google?!! Why?!
