I love being able to talk to my mother, who only lives 18 miles away, for as long as I want for free. Her home phone is long distance and she cannot get cell phone services to work in her area. I would love to get her an account also so she could call her other children and friends without it being long distance. She is on a very limited income. Thanks Google!

It works to make calls but some issues that need to be fixed. When you try to hit the call button top right hand it doesn't work to make calls, you then have to go to your email and click on the search button & you can make calls from there but it doesn't look like a phone so most people won't know of this, then you can go to hangout page make calls from there but that is very time consuming, we need easy friendly button to make calls, I recommend you test it and work on the issues, is there any way to add a redial button? If the issues can be fixed it would be a awesome way to make calls.

Not sure why so many people become belligerent while leaving reviews. Sure, there are problems but it's best to leave a review that's not kicking and screaming like a baby. It's not a great interface for using google voice, but it's awesome for the text part. It's a nice utility to communicate with your friends over text without opening a whole other window. I use this on osx yosemite along with windows 7. It's also nice to read new voicemails that come through, or to know if someone called you. (I turn my phone off while working)

this extension works seamlessly for me with all THREE of my phones (each of which has its own phone number) -- it consolidates all the text and voice messages from each phone into the voice app (and I have the option to either keep the original messages on my phones, or just archive them in google voice). I also love the voice mail transcription -- SO helpful, and its great to not have to pay for that service from my cell companies!
