This extension is for anyone, who uses websites with pop-up ads (ads that open in a new tab).
red icon -> TabBlock prevents opening any new tab.
green icon -> TabBlock allows opening new tabs freely.
Note! Redirections to ads in the same tab still work! You can try to block them by using other extensions or simply return with "back" button.
TabBlock does not block any normal ads.
Manifest v3 Update: The new approach in Manifest v3 prevents extensions from running in the background all the time, leading to a cold start that can significantly increase the time needed to close a new tab. However, this is purely a cosmetic downgrade - TabBlock now filters out all requests to new tabs instantly, in addition to its ability to close tabs.

This is great, just remember to turn it off and on though
With this extension enabled, the standard command for opening new tab (ctrl+T, or '+' sign in the tabs bar) stops working. This is unacceptable.
This extension is nearly perfect, it does what it says it does. There's a major caveat though. it doesn't work on a per-website basis, instead it stops tab creation in every single tab not just the problematic website. Please make this website-dependent... it would be way better.

ele é ótimo mas poderia melhorar se ele NÃO impedisse o chrome de abrir as páginas de onde ele parou ao abri-lo, forçando o usuário a abrir o histórico para continuar de onde parou manualmente.

Very nice. I wish it had a way to set certain websites to not open new tabs. Instead of blocking any and all tabs.
É uma ótima extensão que cumpre o que promete. Quem avalia mal é que não se deu nem ao trabalho de testar e entender o quão simples é para você não ficar abrindo abas por conta própria ou que fiquem abrindo novas abas sozinho.
its good but remember to turn it off before you close out of your browser, but in case you forget, open task manager then type in chrome and hit end task
