This extension is for anyone, who uses websites with pop-up ads (ads that open in a new tab).
red icon -> TabBlock prevents opening any new tab.
green icon -> TabBlock allows opening new tabs freely.
Note! Redirections to ads in the same tab still work! You can try to block them by using other extensions or simply return with "back" button.
TabBlock does not block any normal ads.
Manifest v3 Update: The new approach in Manifest v3 prevents extensions from running in the background all the time, leading to a cold start that can significantly increase the time needed to close a new tab. However, this is purely a cosmetic downgrade - TabBlock now filters out all requests to new tabs instantly, in addition to its ability to close tabs.

was searching for an addon like this for ages! Install and works perfectly fine - nice to block all than annoying stuff on streaming pages.
Works very well. Convenient but you will have to remember to turn it off for new tabs. Thank you!
It works very well. Blocks those annoying tabs from opening. Maybe it works too well. Remember to shut it off before closing chrome or you won't be able to open other tabs for that session. Had to reboot the pc. Maybe add an option to shut it off automatically when closing chrome? Seems pretty easy

Por padrão, bloqueia qualquer site de abrir uma nova aba, totalmente contraintuitivo...deveria ser somente para sites desejados pelo usuário, como por exemplo sites que abrem novas abas para exibir propaganda. Sem contar que, sequer um popup/menu a extensão tem para fazer o controle do bloqueio. Se é para desenvolver soluções, que façamos com boa qualidade, certo? ...

It no longer stays enabled when you close the browser. You have to enable it every time you open Chrome. I start Chrome in kiosk mode with no keyboard so there is no way to enable it every time. Not sure if TabBlock or Chrome changed.
Great, just what I was looking for.
why is the on off just not apparent its clicking the extension btw yea you go click it then its just on no indication of that tho or anyone saying it why idk. but you go back click again and its off thats really dumb but ok it works thanks for at least that. also there is no red green anything in the opera browser so that bit of info is pretty much useless
