Very useful extension, but it works unpredictably. I use it to translate words unknown to me. But in many cases it offers me not a translation to the word, but a page from Wikipedia about something with such a name. I think it would be better to separate this behavior into different modes.

This dictionary is just downloaded a lot because of Google brand. But this app needs lots of improvement. Definitions are very difficult to understand and use lots of jargons. This is not recommended for English beginner.

This extension rarely works. I would guess that it functions properly, on average, about 20% of the time. Even when it is working, there's a high likelihood that the word I'm looking up can't be found in whatever source material the Google Dictionary is referencing. The usual functionality involves double-clicking a word on a web page, and waiting for a Google Dictionary pop-up window that never appears. This happens in new windows, tabs, and even new instances of the Chrome browser. Restarting the system has no apparent effect, either. Searching online for answers only reveals more questions. Of course, the Google Product Forums are, per usual, less than useless. They offer no insight into this problem's origins or any possible resolutions. I'm certain that there are better alternatives for Chrome. I'll just have to spend some time researching a substitute extension. Until then, I'll have to, apparently, remain illiterate.

Its an excellent idea, I mean I would say it's 60% consistent, sometimes I double click and it doesn't work. I recommend it though because when it does work it's really useful. Even when double clicking doesn't work, you can just click the extension and type in what you are looking for.

Gets around 60% of words, simpler it is the more likely it will get it. A great deal of specific words will have no definition.
