Today I finally got a notification about the ad settings without having to figure it out for myself. For this reason I am putting my rating back up where it was before. The extension works great. Just make sure in the future that if the ads are turned on, nothing is injected onto pages loaded in my localhost. Thank you for listening and being proactive.
Wow guys, I used to *love* this extension, until it starting throwing its own (often times *noisy*) ads in web pages. Gonna have to ditch it. I'd suggest you try and find another way to monetize.
Liked it and I didn't really have a problem with the ads (I just turned them off), but don't like the code used to track my browsing with the possibility to sell to third parties.
DIRECTIONS FOR TURNING OFF ADS FOR THOSE INCESSANT COMPLAINERS: GO TO THE SIDEBAR ON THE LEFT. CLICK THE CONFIGURE BUTTON. CLICK NO TO DISABLE ADS. Ok, now that I can get past that, I love this new tab page! It makes it feel more Windows 8-y, goes along nicely with my new computer ;-D -Nick
Ads on the Tab Page would be one thing, but ads on other pages is BS and completely unrelated to what this app is. Crappy moves like that is why people won't trust you enough to upgrade to a paid version.

I have lost my Awesome Page for the 3rd time. I have written to Google 3 times about this and heard nothing back. I have tried to delete Chrome in order to re-install it.It will not allow me to delete it. If this keeps happening, when I buy a new system, sometime in the next year, I will no longer use anything Google. There is no address to save to my favorite, I have tried this and it does not work. I spent a good amount of time setting up and learning to use the page. I made my own icons. Now, for the 3rd time, it is all gone. Mr. Hart, please tell me what is going on?
Like many others I thought this really was an "Awesome" extension. I can put up with most ads, and understand the dev's needs to make some money off the back of his work, but the way these ads are so intrusive has really put my back up. I don't trust the way it works, don't like the way it just "appeared" without any comments or options to purchase ad-free etc. I tried turning the ads off in settings as advised, but they just re-activated. I've uninstalled it from all our family browsers, which is a shame because we all liked it. You should have listened when people first started commenting about it.
Tool itself is good, but injects website with tons of ads - even auto-play-full-sound-video-ads won't reccomend
