When you pause a YouTube video, the player controls don't disappear. That makes it really hard to take a clean screenshot of the video. The controls also block your view, which can get really annoying. Hyde is a simple Chrome extension that allows you to hide or show the video player controls easily.

I like it but the time bar is still showing on the video. I want to hide that too.

Works on edge but not out of the box, you have to go to edge://extensions/shortcuts and set the shortcut CTRL+M manually, also set it to 'In edge' rather than 'global'. that's how i managed to get it running in edge.
Exactly as advertised. Very nice
doesnt work on windows 11 ms edge i think because ctrl+m is mapped to mute tab already EDIT: Works on edge but not out of the box, you have to go to edge://extensions/shortcuts and set the shortcut CTRL+M manually, also set it to 'In edge' rather than 'global'. that's how i managed to get it running in edge. should be included in the extensions description to avoid confusion.
Works for me in early 2024. Now add Facebook!
Great extension. If you use the Brave browser you will need to explicitly set the Ctrl+M keyboard shortcut (Settings/Extensions/Keyboard shortcuts).
