When you pause a YouTube video, the player controls don't disappear. That makes it really hard to take a clean screenshot of the video. The controls also block your view, which can get really annoying. Hyde is a simple Chrome extension that allows you to hide or show the video player controls easily.

⭐ Simply use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+M to hide the controls or show them again. ⭐

works like charm in any browser ... just you have to specify the shortcut that activates the extension. like in my case ctrl+M mutes the window . so I changed the shortcut and now works fine.

Is there a way to hide the HUD on youtube video's that are placed on a different site than youtube.com. For example a patreon page from a physics tutor :D?

It won't work in Edge because the shortcut "Ctrl + M" is set to mute the tab, which cannot be changed not in the browser settings nor in the extension settings :(
