Quickly look up Japanese words on any text page by activating the add-on from the toolbar (you may need to use the Extensions menu to pin the icon to the toolbar) or pressing Alt+R.

Features:

• Pitch accent information

• Dictionaries that update automatically twice a week

• Recognition of a wide range of grammatical forms and characters (e.g. 食べてた, 分からん, 知らん, じーちゃん, 頑張ろー, そーゆー, ぬ verbs, とく・どく forms, causative passive, vs-c verbs like 兼した, and characters like ㋕, ㌀, ㋿, 𠏹沢, and many more)

• Translation of Japanese numbers into Arabic numerals (e.g. 13億5千万 into 1,350,000,000)

It's the nicest popup dictionary extension I've used so far, but there is currently no option that I can see to have a monolingual dictionary, so I find myself having to return to Yomichan. Would be great if you're able to add this feature in the future.

Just installed and spot some mistakes in this app. For example, 徐に should means slowly, calmly ONLY. Youngsters have misused it as suddenly way too often. I would recommend to switch it from non-standard to misuse (非標準的な → 誤用) Source: https://eigobu.jp/magazine/omomuroni

A great extension, thank you so much for your hard work! 1. Do you think it would be feasible to bring Japanese audio samples to this extension? Being able to hear the terms as I hover with the right pitch accent and repeating them would really help me in my learning process, even if it just plays the dictionary form of words or if not all words have an audio. If you implement it you could add a button to play the audio on click as well, because not everyone might want it to autoplay. 2. It would be nice to be able to select an expression in Japanese in text and see the matching items for that instead of what the mouse is over. That would help avoid mistakes when guessing what to select (for example in 日本語基本文法辞典 it incorrectly selects 基本文 instead of 基本). It could either be an alternative to "search on hover" selectable in the settings, or selecting text could simply always take precedence over "search on hover" whenever any text is selected.
