This extension adds a button to your browser toolbar. Click the translate icon whenever you want to translate the page you're visiting.
The extension also automatically detects if the language of a page you're on is different from the language you're using for your Google Chrome interface. If it is, a banner appears at the top of the page. Click the Translate button in the banner to have all the text on the page appear in the new language.

UPDATE(v1.2): Now you can change the extension options to enable automatic translation or prevent the banner automatically popped up for specified languages and web sites.

I use Google Translate on a daily basis to translate patents and financial statements. It's a great tool for a quick translation and meets my needs about 80% of the time. Some translations miss a lot of context - Japanese or Chinese into English for example. There is a learning capability built into GT based on user feedback, but I believe use of established translation rules would work better (supervised learning).
Chrome has build-in translator already, so this is useless until you add selected word translation like Google Dictionary.
