This extension has completely sold out. Forces you to whitelist them in your Adblocker if you want to adjust any settings, doesnt save settings, has dumb "AI features" that is just a buzzword for "annoying popup windows you cant turn off". Dont' install this. Its become hot garbage. Used to be great.

Just this stupid pop-up about having to update chrome, even though I'm using Brave, dozens of times a day. This extension used to be so useful, but the sheer amount of pop up spam is way beyond acceptable, to the point where the actual functions doesn't matter. Uninstalled.

I've been using this for the past 4-5 years with no issues, and it was amazing, perfect even, until probably this month (December 2024). There's a specific feature that keeps leading to window pop-ups, "AI-based helpful reminders (recommended)", reminding me to clear my browsing data and that Chrome is outdated. When these pop-ups weren't relentless, they were helpful to varying degrees until recently, where they seem to pop-up every day. However, no matter how many times I turn this off, these pop-ups keep appearing. Every time I go into the extension options, it seems to have re-enabled itself and I'm forced to disable this "feature" on a daily basis. Also, the extension has now demanded its website to be whitelisted in my adblocker (which I need to do just to view the extension options/settings). The relentless pop-ups alone (with no effective way to disable them) has me considering a new extension. 1/26/2025 EDIT: Same pop-up issues still occurring along with the AI-reminders still re-enabling itself. Pop-ups have seemingly moved from new window pop-ups to new tab pop-ups instead, with the reminders being more aggressive and frequent. I'll now be removing this and looking for a new extension.

This extension is now adware. Remember pop-ups? Chromeactions does, and they're bringing them back! Very sad as I have used this as my dark mode viewer for at least five years, but will be uninstalling after posting this review.

It's adware. Don't install. Can't access any options when using ad-blocker (including built-in) or even privacy extensions. 'AI Recommendations' is a fake name for popup ads for their website chromeactions.com. Appears every few minutes and can't be blocked or disabled. Gives you (not so) 'helpful advice' like update Chrome (even though it's the latest version) but the button is a link to their website filled with ads and requires disabling ad-block and privacy settings. It sucks because there's some good functionality even if it's slightly buggy, but all of this adware stuff is killing the extension.

I liked this extension very much, but since you can't turn off this completely unnecessary pop-up windows thanks to this option: "AI-based helpful reminders (recommended)". They are not helpful at all, just annoying.

I've used this extension for years, before YouTube added a dark mode, probably close to a decade now. But this is ridiculous. The spam is simply obnoxious, who ever thought this would be a good idea needs to check recent reviews, which are all negative due to this. And the "AI Recommendation" option not being saved is just ridiculous, and I'm not sure if it's due to malice or incompetence. So yeah, I'm uninstalling one of my first and favorite extensions, congrats.

Options are not saving correctly. Whenever I turn off the AI Recommendation to avoid the new extremely annoying random popup, the option is set again when you refresh. Clean it up and stop harassing users, and I'll revisit the rating. Soon uninstalling if not corrected.
